ASHRAE Cummins Student Branch

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) is a global professional association seeking to advance heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) systems design and construction. Founded in 1894 it now has more than 50,000 members worldwide, composed of building services engineers, architects, mechanical contractors, building owners, equipment manufacturers, employees, and others concerned with the design and construction of HVAC&R systems in buildings. The society funds research projects, develops and publishes technical standards to improve building services engineering, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and sustainable development.

The MKSSS’s Cummins College of Engineering, Pune – ASHRAE Student branch was established in January 2022. The section includes student members from the Mechanical Engineering Branch. A number of events and activities including industrial visits, guest lectures, workshops, and competitions are held by the Local Chapter of ASHRAE that help students in their professional development and update them with the current trends in technology. It includes helping students understand their opportunities and responsibilities and developing their interest in engineering. ASHRAE also provides its members with opportunities for student employment, internships, and scholarships.
