ACM-W Students Chapter

Association of Computing Machinery-Women Student’s Chapter

ACM-W aims to support, celebrate and advocate internationally for the full engagement of women in all aspects of the computing field. The focus of ACM-W is to inspire, motivate and encourage women to join the field of computing and eventually sustain and grow in the profession. Cummins College of Engineering for Women, Pune entered into the new endeavour by forming the first ACM-Women (ACM-W) Chapter of Pune on October 6, 2012.

ACM-W students Chapter, CCEW is the first and only students’ chapter  for women in the entire Pune region.

A number of events and activities including expert lectures, workshops, ACM-W distinguished speaker program and CCEW flagship event coding competition “CodeIT” that help students in their professional development and update them with the current trends in technology are organized by the ACM-W student chapter. ACM-W members received sponsorship for attending the Grace Hopper Celebrations (GHCI) conducted in Bengaluru. Students attend summer and winter schools of ACM at various colleges all over India. Every year a number of new students register for ACM-W membership.
